What is Octopus Agile?

Octopus Agile is a half-hourly electricity tariff that tracks the wholesale electricity market. Your unit rate changes every 30 minutes and can go negative when renewable generation is high and demand is low — meaning Octopus pays you to use electricity — or rise sharply during cold, dark, windless evenings. Octopus publishes confirmed prices for roughly the next 24–48 hours each afternoon.

What this forecast covers

This tool extends the Octopus outlook to 21 days ahead using BMRS GB grid forecasts, Open-Meteo weather ensemble data, ENTSO-E cross-border flow schedules, and TTF gas futures. Each half-hour slot is delivered as a low–central–high band. Confirmed Octopus prices override the model for published slots.

Forecasts are available for all 14 Octopus GSP regions plus a national GB average. The model is updated every time Octopus releases new confirmed prices.
